Short Film Competition
The Kollektive Short Film Competition offers filmmakers a platform to showcase their work and compete for awards. Our mission is to build a community where filmmakers gain visibility, celebrate their projects, and connect with talent. Participants vie for a $500 prize and the Kollektive Luminary Award, immersing themselves in an environment of discovery and growth.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions are open to filmmakers of all ages, welcoming short films that are original, non-offensive, and meet standard competition guidelines. Films must be under 40 minutes with no specific technical or thematic criteria. We encourage diverse and creative entries that showcase unique storytelling and filmmaking skills.
Prize #1: Kollektive Luminary Award
The winning submission will receive the Kollektive Luminary Award represented by an engraved trophy.
Prize #2: $500 Cash
The winning submission will receive a monetary award of $300, second place will receive $150, and third place will receive $50.
Prize #3: Publicity
Top submissions will receive publicity via the Kollektive social media channels.

All entrants may upload their short films within the Kollektive platform.
Submissions Close
July 12, 2024
Entrants will no longer be able to add submissions to the Kollektive platform.
Voting Period
July 13-19, 2024
Winners will be selected on a voting-basis. One vote per account.
Winners Announced
July 19, 2024
Winners will be announced and presented the Kollektive Luminary Award at a live event.
How to Enter
Create a Kollektive account to get started. Once you're logged in, head over to the "Short Film Competition" space in your account. Here, you can easily upload a link to your film, provide a description, and add all the exciting details about your submission.

Submission Limits
Each short film may only be entered once, however, two separate short films may be submitted for each account.
Voting
To qualify for the final round, you must:

Submit your votes for the top three short film submissions, ranked from first to third (excluding your own).

The voting window is July 13-14.

Once the top six finalists are selected (determined by peer voting):

Each finalist will be featured with their own post on the Kollektive Instagram page. The audience can cast votes for the finalists by:

1 Vote: Liking the finalist's designated post.

3 Votes: Sharing the finalist's designated post on their story (limit of one time per account).
